Singapore Zoo
Early start because we had to take the metro and then a shuttle bus to the Singapore zoo, We estimated that it would take around an hour to arrive at the park. The queue for the bus was very long. We did not manage to get on the first one and the next was in 20 minutes. But in the end we got there. The park in itself was very beautiful but impossible to compare with Pari Daiza in Belgium (according to us the most beautiful animal park in the world and I am not saying that because I am Belgian :-)).
Little India
After 2.5 hours, we had seen it all and we decided to take the metro to Little India and that was indeed where we ended up. We walked along the gold shops to the Sri Veeramakaliamman temple that unfortunately was closed. We could only take a few pictures from the outside.
We then visited the Tekka center, an Indian hawker center, with the fresh market on the side. The smell of meat and fish approached us. It was terrible… We both hoped that our food would not come from this market.
In the meantime, I got a little hungry and decided to taste something Indian in the hawker center. I ordered a double cheese prata and a mango lassi. Super tasty at no cost! I ordered another lassi because it was just too delicious. Then we went back to our hotel for a swim before starting the evening activity.
Waterfront Light Show
In the evening, we walked back to Marina Bay for the waterfront light show. Unfortunately we arrived just in time for the start of the show so the best seats were already taken. Therefore, I had put myself at the side, so I would have the city lights in the background on my photo’s. This was maybe not such a good idea as I got a shower when the water spurted up from the fountains and the wind blew it in my direction. Fortunately, it was not a cold evening and it dried up very quickly.
After the show, we went back to my favourite food court in the shoppes. My god, there was so much choice. We decided on the dim sums and the BBQ chicken Korean style. The food was again incredibly tasty! I am going to miss this so much at home!
