Arrival at Kings Walden Garden Manor
We arrived in Tzaneen in the late afternoon at Kings Walden Garden Manor. It was raining and only 19 degrees. But this would quickly change since tomorrow, it would be 28 degrees again.
After a lovely shower and an aperitif, we looked forward to dinner because our stomachs were grunting after our brunch from 10.30am. Dinner was very tasty (except for the Thai pumpkin soup where the coconut flavour was too overwhelming).
A bit tired from the long day, we went to bed early… tomorrow was a new day with new adventures.
After a fantastic breakfast for those who woke up on time, we started the discovery of the beautiful garden of our lodge.
Visit of the Debengeni Falls
Then we had set course to the Debengeni Falls, situated in the Magoebaskloof, for a (cold) foot bath for those that were in for it ! We had to be careful when walking over the rocks since they were very slippery.
Afternoon at the Manor
After our picnic, we did a short walk and we returned to the Manor. Then it was tea time with chocolate cake… yummy :-).
Koen and Maxine decided that they wanted to try out the pool which was ice cold. Koen had to soak in the bath tub afterwards to get back his normal temperature 🤣.
After a while, we witnessed a fight between monkeys that visited the lodge. The losers of the fight, a mother and her baby, were thrown into the pool. I had never seen such a spectacle. I did not even know that the monkeys were able to swim.
Our stay at Kings Walden Manor came to an end. The accommodation had been wonderful as was the food ! Tomorrow we would begin at the last leg of our holiday…
